Donate to Our Back to School Drive

The Back to School Program began as an annual event to provide support to children in foster care and their families before the start of the new school year. Because children in foster care typically leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs, a new backpack with school supplies may be needed at any time throughout the year. Knowing these items are essential for a child’s academic success, The Foster Alliance expanded the annual Back to School Drive from an event to a year-round program. Today, just as many backpacks are given throughout the year as they are at the Back to School Distribution hosted in the summer.

All donations are tax deductible. Only with your help can we look forward to ensuring that children in foster care will begin their next year with the tools they need to be successful.

There are so many ways to help: host a drive, donate a backpack, or even volunteer. Get your complete guide below!

We are so excited to share everything you need to know about Back-to-School season at The Foster Alliance. In addition to the backpacks and school supplies given out at the TFA resource center, we will also be doing our first-ever pop-up shops with our new mobile unit for foster families across the state!

What’s Inside

Each backpack given out by The Foster Alliance this Back-to-School season will include all of the supplies children need to start the school year off right! In addition to the “starter kit” each child will receive, we will also have other age-appropriate school supplies available.
